Terms of Service
Effective Date: January 13, 2026
Welcome to Loudboard! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Loudboard mobile app (the “App”) and any related services. Please read these Terms carefully. By downloading, installing, or using Loudboard, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.
1. Use of the App; Eligibility
Loudboard measures how loudly you can scream into your phone’s microphone, gives you a score, and allows you to compete on leaderboards with other users worldwide or by country/region.
Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years old to use Loudboard. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 13. (Some jurisdictions may require a higher age; if so, you must comply with local law.)
Modifications: We may change or discontinue features of Loudboard at any time (including limiting or removing your access) without notice.
2. Accounts and Nicknames
Loudboard uses a lightweight account system. To participate on leaderboards, you choose a nickname. You agree that:
- Your nickname will not impersonate others or use offensive, misleading, or infringing terms. We reserve the right to reject or remove any nickname that violates our policies.
- You are responsible for any activity under your nickname.
- You may not share your account credentials.
If we detect abuse (spamming names, hateful content, etc.), we may rename or remove your account without notice.
3. User Content (Audio and Scores)
When you record a scream, Loudboard creates “user content” including your audio recording, derived scores, and metrics. You retain ownership of this content, but by using Loudboard you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use your content to provide the service (for example, to process your audio, display your score on leaderboards, or show it in shared links). This license ends when you delete your account or the content is removed.
You are solely responsible for the content you submit. By uploading or sharing recordings or other content, you represent that you have the rights to do so, and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights. Do not record others without consent. If your audio contains other people’s voices, you should have their permission to upload or share it. Loudboard is not responsible for any unauthorized content you submit.
4. Leaderboards and Sharing
Public Leaderboards: Scores you earn in Loudboard automatically appear on the daily, weekly, and all-time leaderboards for your region and globally. These leaderboards display your nickname, score, and country/region. By using the App, you agree that your nickname and score will be visible to others.
Shareable Links: You can optionally share your score (and audio recording, if verified) via a unique link. Anyone with that link can view your score and listen to the audio (if included). We cannot control who views these links once shared. It’s your choice to share; Loudboard is not liable for any consequences.
Opt-Out: To hide your past data, you may delete your account or request removal via email (see Contact).
5. Prohibited Conduct and Anti-Cheat
You agree not to misuse Loudboard. For example, you will not:
- Cheat, hack, or use modified tools to falsify scores
- Spam, harass, or impersonate others with your nickname
- Use Loudboard in ways that disrupt the service or violate laws
- Upload offensive or illegal content in your nickname or recordings
Loudboard employs automated (including machine learning algorithms) and manual anti-cheat measures. If you violate these rules, we may: remove your score, reset leaderboards, suspend or ban your account, or refuse service at our discretion. There is no refund or appeal for such actions. We do not guarantee perfect accuracy of every score; technical errors may occur. The official leaderboard order is subject to our final determination.
6. Health and Safety; Accuracy
WARNING: Screaming loudly can risk hearing damage or other injuries. By using Loudboard, you acknowledge you are responsible for your own safety. You should:
- Listen at a safe volume and distance from others
- Avoid screaming if you have respiratory, cardiac, or other health conditions that could be aggravated
- Take breaks and not scream excessively
- Be aware of your surroundings and avoid startling others
Loudboard provides approximate decibel measurements. It is not a certified sound-level instrument or medical device. Smartphone sound meters show relative levels and depend on your device’s microphone and position. Your results are for fun and comparison only, not for any professional, medical, or safety-critical purpose.
Loudboard disclaims liability for any health or safety issues arising from use of the App, including but not limited to hearing damage, voice strain, respiratory issues, or injuries caused by screaming.
7. Third-Party Services
Loudboard includes or links to third-party services (app store features, ad networks, analytics). Your use of any third-party features (like in-app purchases through Google Play or Apple App Store) is subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party content or services. Some features may require internet access; data charges may apply.
8. Advertising and Payments
Loudboard displays advertisements through third-party ad networks. We collect non-personal data for ad delivery and personalization.
We offer an optional ad-free experience via in-app purchase. In-app purchases are handled by Apple/Google stores and are subject to their terms; refunds are at their discretion. We do not provide refunds for in-app purchases unless required by law.
9. Intellectual Property
All rights to Loudboard’s app content (except your user submissions) are owned by us. “Loudboard” and related logos are our trademarks. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our software or branding without permission. You agree not to reverse-engineer the app or use it for unauthorized commercial purposes.
10. Disclaimers; Limitation of Liability
Disclaimer of Warranties: Loudboard is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, regarding the app and services, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of scores, or non-infringement. You use Loudboard at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability: We are not liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Loudboard (including any health issues, hearing damage, voice damage, data loss, or privacy breaches) even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim related to Loudboard will not exceed the amount you paid (if any) for use of the App. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; if so, these limitations may not apply to you.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us, our officers, and affiliates harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your user content, or your violation of law.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Loudboard at any time for breach of these Terms or for any other reason, without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (like disclaimer, limitation, indemnity) will do so.
13. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time through the App’s Settings screen. Account deletion is immediate and permanent. When you delete your account, all your data—including your profile, screams, scores, streaks, and leaderboard entries—will be permanently removed.
If you purchased Screamer Pro, you can restore your purchase after creating a new account by tapping “Restore Purchases” in Settings. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID or Google account, not your Loudboard account.
For step-by-step instructions, visit loudboard.app/delete-account.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any disputes arising from Loudboard are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict of laws. Any legal action must be brought in the courts of Wyoming.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. When we do, we will post the new Terms in the App or on our website and update the Effective Date above. Continued use of Loudboard after changes means you accept the new Terms. We encourage you to review them periodically.
